Introduction
The Mazu Temple of Meizhou is a sacred place in the hearts of Mazu worshipers around the world, commonly known as the Meizhou Temple. It is located in the central part of Meizhou Island, a subordinate of Putian City, Fujian Province, to the west of the Taiwan Strait. It can be reached by a journey of more than 40 kilometers southeast from the city center of Putian. In the early Song Dynasty, the temple was only a small shrine with a few horizontal beams on the ground, named "Shennü Ci". After many repairs and expansions, it gradually became a modern temple. The history of the temple is long and it’s worship of Mazu has gradually spread to the whole world with migration and spreading among believers becoming an international saint across borders.
