Introduction
Zhaojun Museum is located on the south bank of the Dahur River, about 9 kilometers south of Hohhot City, consisting of Zhaojun Tomb and related buildings. Wang Zhaojun was one of the four beauties of ancient China. She was from Zhi Gui in Nanchuan during the Western Han Dynasty. In 37 BC, she was selected into the imperial palace and served as a waiting maid for Emperor Yuan of Han. In 33 BC, under the urgent demand for ethnic peace from the Han and Xiongnu peoples, Wang voluntarily married the Xiongnu as a wife of the chanyu, becoming a great woman who dedicated herself to the cause of friendship between the Chinese nation and the Xiongnu. Her legend and story have been widely circulated in Chinese folklore for thousands of years and she is regarded as the embodiment of beauty. Zhaojun Tomb, also known as Qingzhong, was built by the Han people with artificial ramming. It is more than 30 meters high and has a bottom area of about 13,000 square meters. It is now a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Address YUQUAN district, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, 209 national road
