Introduction
Located in the northwest corner of Yancheng City, the People's Park has a total area of 200 mu and is adjacent to the Xinyanggang River and a string of fields. It is connected to the natural sightseeing belt of the Chuan Chang River. It is also close to the Yongning Ancient Temple, the first ancient temple in the Jianghuai region, and is known as a cultural and historical site in Yancheng City. The People's Park not only has a natural ecological environment but also has a long history. It was once a battlefield where the New Fourth Army fought during the Anti-Japanese War. During the Anti-Japanese War, the New Fourth Army set up ambushes here, defeated the Japanese army's attacks, and made contributions to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. The park was built in November 1958, and the gate is a modern architectural style, with the famous calligrapher Cang Ke writing the inscription. The gate, ticket office, and convenience store are integrated into the scenic area, and the plaza at the gate provides a place for visitors to relax. The four-season flowers and flower beds in the scenic area are integrated with the buildings, creating a natural feeling of returning to nature.
