Starting from the Tang Dynasty, Huaying Mountain has been a holy place for Buddhism in eastern Sichuan and is famous for being called "Little Emei." There are more than 30 relics that can be traced back to the Baoding built during the reign of Tang Dezong and the former residence of An Bing, the prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty.
Located in the northeast of the Sichuan Basin, Huaying Mountain Tourism Area has lush forests as its environment and typical landscape represented by beautiful Karst stone forests and caves. It has various landscapes such as beautiful peaks, unique stones, primitive sinkhole caves, dense bamboo forests, and historical relics of the Huaying Mountain guerrillas, with the harmony of natural and cultural landscapes.
The landscape features of the tourism area can be summarized by "unique peaks, strange stones, green mountains, and secluded valleys," and the scenery changes with the seasons, presenting the beauty of "green in spring, shade in summer, red in autumn, and white in winter." Among them, the highest peak with an altitude of about 1704 meters, which is the most sought-after by tourists, has splendid natural scenery and features attractions such as two forests (stone forest and fir forest), two seas (cloud sea and bamboo sea), and two beautiful views (snow and sunrise).
