Introduction
The important subsidiary building of the capital city of Zhongdu, the Ming Zhongdu Drum Tower, is located in the center of the county town. The tower is 17 meters high, 61.5 meters long from north to south, and 34.4 meters wide from east to west. The four characters "the root of ten thousand generations" on the gate are extremely magnificent and spectacular, and can be clearly identified even from hundreds of meters away. In 1995, the county party committee and the county government carried out reconstruction work, and its original appearance - "three overlapping eaves, hundred feet high building, grand and magnificent, beautiful and dust-free, with grand scale and magnificent architecture" - will soon reappear before people's eyes. The entire Drum Tower area has been comprehensively planned and built, forming a prosperous antique commercial tourism area. As for transportation to Chuzhou, the most convenient way is to take the train. Chuzhou Station is an important station on the Beijing-Shanghai Railway. It only takes 40 minutes to reach Nanjing by express train, and it only takes 120 minutes to travel from Bengbu to Chuzhou. Due to the proximity of Chuzhou to Nanjing (66 kilometers, only half an hour by train), all direct express and super express trains do not stop at Chuzhou. If you want to go to Chuzhou, you can take a fast train or a plane to Nanjing first, and then take a bus from Nanjing Jiangbei Bus Station to Chuzhou. The ticket price is about 10 yuan, and there is a bus every 15 minutes. You can reach Chuzhou in an hour and a half. The taxi price in Chuzhou is extremely cheap, starting at only 3 yuan.
