Introduction
The Song-Yuan Battle of Yamen Cultural Tourism Area is located in Guanchong, Gujing Town, Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, on the east bank of Yinzhou Lake. This is where the Great Song Dynasty, which dominated more than 700 years ago, established the only large-scale imperial palace in Guangdong - Yashan Palace. In 1279, more than 700 years ago, the Song and Yuan armies staged a famous naval battle here. Both sides deployed over 200,000 troops, more than 1,600 warships, and over 1,000 civilian ships. The battle lasted for 23 days and was extremely intense. This makes the Battle of Yamen ranked as the top one among the four ancient Chinese naval battles, including the Battle of Beichunjiang during the Tang Dynasty, Zheng Chenggong's recovery of Taiwan, and the Battle of Jiawu. The rich historical heritage, beautiful natural scenery, and colorful cultural customs make this place unique.
