Introduction
The Ningyuan Temple, also known as the Xuegong, is located at the southwest corner of Ningyuan County. Initially built in the Han Dynasty Lingdao ancient city (now Dongcheng), it was moved here with the county in the third year of the Qiande period of the Song Dynasty (965 AD). As a representative architecture of ancient Confucian culture in China, the temple is not only a place for worshipping historical and cultural celebrities and their descendants, but also the only official school in feudal society.
