Introduction

Mengyuan Fairyland Scenic Area is home to the largest tropical rainforest karst cave community in China, inhabited by minority ethnic groups such as the Dai and Yao. The Dai, who practice Theravada Buddhism, form the main group and have formed a unique Betel Leaf culture. The scenic area is dotted with numerous rare and endangered protected plants, such as thousand-year-old tea forests, thousand-year-old redwood forests, thousand-year-old oil palm forests, ten-thousand-year-old iron trees, and dinosaur food trees. Visitors can stroll through the pristine rainforest, admire the breathtaking scenery, and explore karst wonders such as stone flowers, stone peaks, stone stalactites, stone dams, and underground rivers.
