Introduction

The Wolf Lane and Mystery Valley got their names from the frequent appearances of wild wolves. The mountains here are both as beautiful as the Yellow Mountains and as thrilling as the Huashan Mountains, with the magical landscapes of Zhangjiajie. The unique terrain and varied rock formations resemble layers of crocodiles, wild wolves, and ancient pages. Despite the vicissitudes of life, the trees growing on the rocks remain tenacious, with their twisted shapes inspiring people and encouraging them to move forward. In August 2007, the Wolf Lane and Mystery Valley Scenic Area was designated as a National 4A-level tourist scenic spot. The scenic area covers an area of about 9 square kilometers and is divided into two major themes: ancient monasteries for worshiping Buddha and exploration of the mystical valley. There are over 50 large and small scenic spots. The Zen Temple is a Buddhist temple founded during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. It contains cliff carvings dating back to the Tang Dynasty, which not only display various calligraphy styles but also truthfully record the love of literati and ink artists for the Zen Temple over the generations. In the natural cave "Zen Cave," you can appreciate the magical scenery of nature and understand the origins of Buddhist culture. The unique terrain of the Wolf Lane and Mystery Valley makes visitors feel as if they are in a natural and mystical maze.
