Introduction
Yu Mountain is one of the famous "Three Mountains and Two Towers" in Fuzhou, located near the Wuyi Square in the city center. It is said that the nine brothers of He's family refined elixirs and practiced Taoism here during the Han Dynasty, so it is also called Jiuxian Mountain. In addition, there is a legend that a branch of the ancient ethnic group "Yu Yue's family" lived here during the Warring States period, hence the name.
The mountain has beautiful scenery with famous attractions such as the Dashidien Temple, Dingguang Tower, Qigong Temple, and cliff carvings. It is worth mentioning that Dashidien is one of the few temples in China that enshrines a male Guanyin. In addition, there are 24 attractions on Yu Mountain including Jiuxian Temple, and over 100 cliff inscriptions from the Song Dynasty to the modern era such as Wan Sui Temple, Qigong Temple, Dashidien, and Dingguang Tower. The stele corridor displays inscriptions from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, which have a long history.
Climbing to the top of the mountain, visitors can see towering trees and tangled ancient banyan roots, and enjoy spectacular scenery overlooking the entire city of Fuzhou. Address Yushan Road, Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province
