Introduction
Shanggan Tang Village is located 25 kilometers southwest of Jiangyong County. It currently has 453 households and a total population of 1865. Except for 7 households of different surnames who moved into the village after the founding of the country, all other villagers are of the Zhou clan. The Zhou clan settled in Shanggan Tang Village before the Song Dynasty and has been multiplying through the generations until now. The village is one of the most ancient thousand-year-old villages in Hunan Province, second only to the Long Village of Le Fu Tang in Dao County.
