Natural Scenery

Introduction

There is a national protected area covering 190,144 hectares within Deqin County, Yunnan Province. It was established with approval from the Yunnan provincial government in 1983 and was upgraded to national level in 1988. The main purpose of this protected area is to preserve the natural landscapes of mountainous coniferous forests, vertical zones of mountain vegetation, and the precious biological resources of Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys.
