Introduction

Shuilian Cave is a famous scenic spot located in Huaguo Mountain. It has gained popularity overseas due to its description in the novel "Journey to the West". Wu Cheng'en was inspired by this attraction and provided an obscure hiding place for the early Sun Wukong in the novel. Although there are many places throughout China called Shuilian Cave, they were all named after the popularity of "Journey to the West". Only the Shuilian Cave here existed before the novel's popularity.
