Introduction
The Zhaigong is located inside the west gate of the Temple of Heaven, providing shelter for the guards. Its top is covered with blue glazed tiles to signify humility before heaven. The main hall is called "Wuliangdian," a brick and arch structure without pillars, with red walls and green tiles. This signifies that the emperor dare not be arrogant here, but must submit to the will of heaven. Behind the main hall are five sleeping palaces, where the emperor fasts and prays before the sacrifice. In addition, there are auxiliary buildings such as the tea and fruit room and the kitchen. Every spring, several tall magnolia trees in the courtyard bloom, pure white like snow and colorful, with the flowering period from late March to early April.
