Introduction

Zhenbiancheng Village is located in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, adjacent to Mentougou District, Beijing. Zhenbiancheng is a small town that was originally stationed to guard the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. The village has been built since the Ming Dynasty and has two major surnames: Yang and Zhao. The town has a layout of three streets, six alleys, and seventy-two hutongs. According to local villagers, the ancient village also experienced cultural devastation during the Cultural Revolution. Many old houses or ancient buildings were damaged. The remaining old houses, temples, and theaters still show the historical and architectural culture of the past century. The villagers are simple and hospitable. Zhenbiancheng Ancient Village now has several farmhouse inns, which can solve the accommodation and dining problems. Local produces include walnuts, crabapples, almonds, and millet. Especially the quality of walnuts is good and the price is higher.
