Introduction
Liaobin Ancient City and Liaobin Pagoda are the ruins of a thousand-year-old ancient city. Located at the confluence of the Liao River and Xiuwater River, this ancient city was a famous ferry and transportation hub in ancient times, as well as a contested military stronghold. As early as the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it had become an important military town. The Liao Dynasty was the most prosperous period in its history, with the rulers promoting its prosperity by establishing the Liaozhou capital here and welcoming a large number of immigrants from Jizhou. However, prolonged warfare later resulted in severe destruction of this once-thriving ancient city.
