Introduction

Zhengzhou Confucius Temple, located on the north side of East Street, Zhengzhou City, was first built between 58-75 AD (during the reign of Emperor Ming of the Eastern Han Dynasty). It consists of more than 200 halls and pavilions, covering an area of approximately 50,000 square meters. There used to be a street archway on the east and west side. It underwent major renovations in the 33rd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign but was destroyed by fire in the second year of Emperor Guangxu's reign.
