Introduction

Chongyang Temple was built to commemorate Wang Zhe, the founder of the Quanzhen School, and is now known as Yanqing Temple. It was damaged at the end of the Jin Dynasty, but in the fifth year of the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Yuan Dynasty, the Quanzhen disciples, following the instructions of Qiu Chuji, took thirty years to rebuild it into the magnificent Da Chao Yuan Wan Shou Palace. However, it was once again destroyed at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. In the first year of the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Yanqing Temple and the dining hall was repaired, with the Yuhuang Pavilion being a reconstruction of the original dining hall. Currently, it houses precious cultural relics, including a bronze statue of Zhenwu and a white marble statue of the Jade Emperor. In recent years, new additions have been made, including the East and West Daoist rooms and the Sanqing Hall, along with exhibitions of Mongolian lion-riding warriors, the Eight Immortals Drunk Painting, wooden carvings, and brick sculptures for viewing.
