Introduction

Mount Heng is one of the Five Great Mountains in northern China and is a famous Taoist holy site. Legend has it that one of the Eight Immortals, Zhang Guolao, once practiced Taoism here to seek immortality. The Mount Heng scenic area includes many attractions like Tianfeng Ridge, Cuiping Peak, and Qianfo Ridge, but currently only Cuiping Peak and Tianfeng Ridge are open to visitors, with Tianfeng Ridge being the main attraction. The 103-step steep staircase in front of Hengzong Palace's mountain gate tilts forward 30 to 40 degrees, requiring visitors to use their hands and feet to climb. Inside Huixian Palace, visitors can enjoy numerous wall carvings, among which "Heaven and Earth in My Sight" and "A Wall Standing a Thousand Feet" are the most famous. The tallest building in Mount Heng, Hengzong Palace, is located nearby, along with other attractions such as Yuhuang Pavilion, the Imperial Stele Pavilion, Qinqi Terrace, and Tongyuan Valley. Spring is the best season to visit Mount Heng, with peach blossoms in bloom for over 20 days.
