Introduction

From late March to early April each year, the melting of ice on the upper reaches of the Yellow River forms the spring flood, which coincides with the blooming of peach blossoms along the downstream banks and is thus called "Peach Blossom Flood". Due to changes in the Yellow River's water volume and climate, the scenery at Hukou Waterfall varies in different seasons. In spring and autumn, the scenery at Hukou is extremely unique, forming the landscape of "no rainbow hanging in the rain" along the banks. During the spring season, peach blossoms bloom on the hills, the ice on the Yellow River shores melts, and the water flow is moderate and steady. The main and secondary waterfalls merge into a single scene, with the main waterfall surrounded by clouds and the secondary waterfall cascading like a thousand streams. One can also witness the dragon trough, which resembles a giant dragon stirring up waves. Thus, this period is known as the "March Peach Blossom Flood".
