Introduction

The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall was built in memory of the great leader Mao Zedong. It is located on Tiananmen Square, adjacent to the south of the Monument to the People's Heroes. Completed on May 24, 1977, it covers an area of over 57,000 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 28,000 square meters, built on the original site of Zhonghua Gate. Its roof features two layers of glass eaves, with gorgeous sunflower reliefs between the eaves, which are very eye-catching. The pedestal adopts a two-layer platform form, and the side support is built entirely with Zhaoshan single-color granite from the Dadu River in Sichuan. The surrounding area is adorned with Househan Hanbaiyu green flower-decorated railings. Every year, thousands of tourists come here to commemorate Chairman Mao and visit places such as the Memorial Hall, the Memorial Room, the Auditorium, etc.
