Introduction

Shi Ping Mountain is located north of Zhenyuan Ancient City and is a high point overlooking the ancient city and its narrow and deep alleyways as well as the octagonal shaped city walls. The Wuyang River flows from here and the Miaojia Great Wall winds through the mountain. The Qinglong Cave buildings are also unique. There are two hiking paths up Shi Ping Mountain, one from Zhusheng Bridge to Yuping Mountain that is free before 8 am and after 5-6 pm, and the other through the "Sifangjing Alley" or "Fuxing Alley" on the ancient city walking street to the mountain path, which is a commonly used, free shortcut for locals.
