Introduction

Crossing the Baishan Nature Reserve along the Yunnan-Tibet Line requires climbing two passes, the first being the 4,000-meter-high Shuolaraka Pass and the second being the 4,292-meter-high Baishan Pass. After passing through the Baishan Pass, this became the highest road section currently in Yunnan Province and also the boundary line between Deqin County and Shangri-La County.
