Introduction
Lam Yangtso Lake, known as the "Holy Mother's Soul Lake", is located opposite to the Songzanlin Monastery. According to legend, it is believed to be the dwelling place of the soul of the goddess Bandan Lam. Although the lake is not large, it enjoys a great reputation. The scenery is enchanting, with a rich ecology of various water birds in the lake, such as black-necked cranes and yellow ducks. Overlooking Lam Yangtso Lake from the top of the Zhacang Hall, it is a perfect example of the harmonious coexistence of Buddhism and nature.
During important Buddhist rituals, monks and believers follow high monks to the lakeside to recite scriptures and pray for blessings. On ordinary days, local believers also come together to circle the lake, release animals, or pray for blessings.
