Introduction

Buerjin County belongs to Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, China. It is located at the highest point of the "tail" of China's map, at the southwestern foot of the Altai Mountains. It is situated between 86°25' E to 88°06' E and 47°22' N to 49°11' N. The northern part is the highest point of the Altai Mountains, Mount Youyi, which is a border county adjacent to Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia. It borders Altay City to the east, Habahe County to the west, and is connected to Jimunai and Fuhai Counties in the south. It has a total length of 200 kilometers north to south, and a width of 49 to 82 kilometers east to west, forming a gourd shape. It covers a total area of 10,540.3 square kilometers, with a border length of 218 kilometers. It has 1 town and 6 townships, with a population of 46,367 people from 21 ethnic groups, including Kazakhs, Han Chinese, Hui, and Mongols.
