Introduction
Country parks are places that provide recreational opportunities for visitors. The term originated in England, where there are approximately 250 country parks in England and Wales. Most of these parks were designated in the 1970s under the Countryside Act 1968. Due to lack of funding, new country parks are not common. Most country parks are managed by local governments, with a few being privately owned. Following the example of the British, Hong Kong created several country parks during the colonial period. In 1976, the Hong Kong government enacted the Country Parks Ordinance, designating a quarter of Hong Kong's land as country parks. In 1996, the Coastal Parks and Coastal Protection Areas Regulation further included the marine environment of Hong Kong. As of 2005, Hong Kong had a total of 23 country parks, 15 special areas, and 5 coastal parks and coastal protection areas. Address Heilinpu Town, Xishan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province
