Introduction

Xishan National Forest Park has a total of over 250 plant species, belonging to 73 families. The park has a wide area of forest vegetation and is home to many species of wildlife, including over 10 species of mammals, over 50 species of birds, and various amphibians and reptiles. Among them, the forest covers an area of 80,000 mu (53.3 square kilometers), releasing 178,000 tons of oxygen annually. It spans the districts of Haidian, Shijingshan, and Mentougou, based on the Beijing Xishan Experimental Forest Farm, with a total area of 5,970 hectares. It is an important part of the suburban scenic area and one of the national-level forest parks closest to downtown Beijing.
