Introduction

The largest library in China is located in Haidian District, Beijing. It was once ranked first on the list of "Top Ten Buildings in Beijing in the 1980s". The building was completed in 1987 and has a total floor area of approximately 140,000 square meters, including a 19-storey above-ground library and a 3-storey underground library, which can hold a collection of 20 million books. The library has 46 distinctive reading rooms, including 23 open-shelf reading rooms, covering various types such as daily newspapers, ancient books, audio and video materials, and children's books. In addition, the library also provides a mobile reading platform for its digital library, which includes over 40,000 e-books and thousands of electronic journals. 09:00-17:00 (Tuesday-Sunday, January 1-December 31) Tips: Closed on Mondays. Science and Technology Innovation Center/Science and Technology Consultation Room, Social Science Consultation Room, and Ancient Book Hall are closed on Mondays and Sundays.
