Introduction

Located on the west side of Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing, the Great Hall of the People is an important part of the square. The building faces west and is 336 meters long from north to south, 206 meters wide from east to west, and 46.5 meters high. It covers an area of 150,000 square meters, surpassing the total area of the Forbidden City. The Great Hall of the People is an important venue for political activities of the Party, the state, and various people's organizations. It is also a place for Chinese national leaders and the masses to hold political, diplomatic, and cultural activities. In addition, cultural performances such as concerts and Peking Opera singing are also held at the Great Hall of the People during normal times.
