Shen Congwen lived here during his teaching period at the Chinese Literature Department of Qingdao University from 1931 to 1933. In 1932, Ba Jin also stayed at Shen Congwen's residence in Qingdao. Shen Congwen wrote famous works such as "Autobiography of Congwen", "Remembering Ding Ling", "Scenes Under the Moon", and "The Eight Galloping Horses".
