Introduction

At the northern edge of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park lies Lake Braies, a high-altitude lake. It is one of the deepest lakes in the Province of Bolzano, with a maximum depth of 36 meters and an average depth of 17 meters. It is the starting point of Trail No. 1, a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers. The closest town is Villabassa, from where there are frequent buses to the lake, making it easily accessible. Once here, you will be mesmerized by the serene lake and the stunning natural landscape.
