It features an observation deck where visitors can take photos and admire the scenery. Since the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is not open to the public, Surprised Corner has become an important location for capturing the hotel's beauty. The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, a historic castle hotel, has been standing for over a hundred years. It stands tall amidst the majestic Rocky Mountains, overlooking the clear waters of the Bow River. From this location, one can enjoy a distant view of the Victoria Glacier and Lake Louise, which are over ten kilometers away. It also offers a spectacular view of the entire Banff National Park visitor center. You may have seen the scenic views from Surprised Corner in other places before, as it is also one of the filming locations for "Armless Mountain."
