Introduction

Niš is one of the oldest cities in the Balkan Peninsula, with a long and impressive history. In the center of Niš, next to the Nisava River, stands an ancient castle - Niš Fortress. This fortress is open all day, free of charge, and visitors can climb the walls to overlook the surrounding scenery. Most of the buildings inside the castle are in ruins or have only remaining frames, but one mosque stands out, demonstrating the historical accumulation of various cultural religions converging here.
