Introduction

The Alaska Zoo, located in the beautiful city of Anchorage, was founded in 1969 and covers an area of 25 acres. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska. The zoo is dedicated to education, research, wildlife conservation, and animal care. Most of the animals in the zoo were adopted by the zoo after being abandoned or injured. The zoo is home to over 100 animals and birds of 50 different species, with their habitats simulating natural environments found in the wild. Foreign species such as Siberian tigers, Amur tigers, Bactrian camels, and musk oxen live alongside local animals. The most popular animal star is Maggie, an African elephant with a treadmill. The zoo is constantly expanding, with recent additions including Dall sheep, wolverines, caribou, bald eagles, alpacas, reindeer, golden eagles, and lynxes. Approximately 200,000 visitors come to the zoo each year to explore this vibrant world of animals.
