Introduction

When visiting Jeju Island, you may hear people say "Samdo", which refers to the strong winds, abundance of rocks, and large number of women here. The women referred to here are primarily the "haenyeo" or sea women. As an extremely important female occupation on Jeju Island, the haenyeo have made significant contributions to the island's economic development. In this museum, you will learn about the history and development of the haenyeo, as well as their significant role in the region.

Opening hours
09:00~18:00 New Year's Day (January 1st), Chinese New Year (Lunar Calendar's 1st day of the 1st month), Mid-Autumn Festival (Lunar Calendar's 15th day of the 8th month), closed on the first and third Mondays of every month.
Transportation
If departing from Jeju Airport, you can take the 700 bus heading towards Xihua and Chengshan at the Jeju City Outer Bus Terminal (taking route 1132), and get off at the front of Jeju Women Diver Museum at the Old Jeoji Village (takes about 80 minutes).
