Introduction

If you have ever been amazed by the Leaning Tower of Pisa, then the Yu Chang Building, which is also slanted, will surely catch your attention. The exterior is not particularly outstanding, only slightly larger than the average tulou. However, once you step inside the gate, you will find that the pillars lean in different directions - the third floor leans to the right, and the fourth floor leans to the left. This may be frightening, but don't worry, the Yu Chang Building has stood for more than 600 years, as stable as Mount Tai. These pillars that have leaned for hundreds of years without falling are not only visually stunning but also an important evidence of the oldest tulou in Nanjing. However, like other tulou, the residents of Yu Chang Building have had to adapt to the commercial reality. The first floor kitchen has been transformed into shops and booths, selling various homemade teas and snacks. Of course, there are also some generous and hospitable residents who will invite tourists to taste their tea for free.
