Gulangyu Island is a picturesque photo spot! It's incredibly artistic

This guide doesn't tell you where to eat, where to play, where to stay, or the tourist routes. It only wants to tell you: how I discovered those unknown picturesque views on Gulangyu Island.

Moonlight Rock

Photography Guide: The railing is quite unattractive, avoid including it in the shot. You can have the model lean against it to block it. The camera should be positioned above the photographer, capturing both the model and the panoramic view of Gulangyu Island in the background.

Chuncao Hall (South Gate)

Chuncao Hall was built in 1933 and was the residence of Xu Chuncao, the first chairman of the Xiamen Construction Workers' Union. It was personally designed by him, built on a cliff, and resembles a Western-style building, but is actually a modern Chinese residence. To commemorate their father, his children named the building after him.
On Gulangyu Island, Western-style buildings stand in great numbers, and the streets and alleys are arranged in an orderly manner. There are actually many corners that captivate people, but only this corner is called 'The Most Beautiful Corner.' At a 45-degree angle between two streets, a three-story red brick building shaped like a sailboat stands gracefully, surrounded by lush green trees. The wooden signpost below the brick building adds an artistic touch.

Trinity Church

It is located near Bishan Cave and was built in 1934. It symbolizes the union of three major churches and embodies the doctrine of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The building is unique, with a cross-shaped three-dimensional structure and an unusual design. The roof is the only one in the Xiamen area that was imported from abroad. The rooms are spacious and bright, with excellent acoustics, and visitors can attend services when it is open. On May 25, 2006, the state announced that Trinity Church was included in the sixth batch of 'National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units'.
In the mid-19th century, many Westerners left Europe and America and traveled across the ocean to Gulangyu for work and life. Most of the foreigners who came to Gulangyu were devout Christians. To hold worship ceremonies, they decided to build a church on Gulangyu. Therefore, believers from the American Reformed Church, the London Missionary Society, and the Presbyterian Church of England donated funds to build a church on Lu Reef (also known as Upper Lu Reef) on Gulangyu. In 1863, the neoclassical-style church was completed and was then called the 'International Church.' This was the earliest church on Gulangyu.
