Introduction

Director Feng Xiaogang's film "1942" has made the special street in Chongqing, themed on "Republic of China history" and "Sichuan characteristics," popular. The street is not long, but you can see Guotai Cinema, Xinhua Daily, Xinya Coffee, Palace Photography Studio, as well as some museums, bars, shops, hot pot museums, camera museums, and Republic of China-themed bars with old Chongqing characteristics. Strolling along the old street, you can enjoy nostalgic products such as colored paper-cut, old Shanghai cosmetics, embroidered handkerchiefs, etc. With the slight rocking of a manually-pulled rickshaw, the familiar voice of a newsboy's "Extra!" seems to be drifting by your ears. Rent a set of Republic of China costumes and wander gracefully like a Republic of China lady in the alley... Everything feels like a journey back to the era of the Republic of China, suitable for those who have a nostalgic sentiment.

Take a bus from Hongqihegou Bus Station to Longxing Town, which takes about 50 minutes and costs 16 yuan; or take Bus 63 directly from Yubei District to Longxing Town, with a ticket price of about 10 yuan. After arriving in Longxing Town, you can take a local charter (black car, 10 yuan/person) directly to the Republic Street. If you do not plan to charter a car, walk straight ahead for about 200m after getting off the bus, and you will see a fork in the road at the sign of Longxing Town Health Center. Take the right road and walk straight for about 200m until you see the bus station for Republic Street. The mini-bus can seat 12 people and there are no standing tickets. The fare is 5 yuan and the journey takes about 15 minutes to reach Republic Street (last bus is at 17:30).
