Introduction

Dapeng Fortress, also known as Dapeng Suoyu Qianhu Sicheng, is the full name of Dapeng, which is also the origin of the nickname "Pengcheng" for Shenzhen. Dapeng Fortress was built in the 27th year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1394). The three stone and brick gates, namely East, West, and South Gates, are still standing grandly. There are four streets in each direction, east-west and north-south, with well-preserved traditional Qing-style buildings. The "Zhenwei General's Mansion" of Admiral Lai Yuen-jor, the commander of the Guangdong Navy during the Opium War, and the "General's Mansion" of Admiral Liu Qilong, the commander of the Fujian Navy, are both grand and magnificent. In addition, there are County Magistrate Office, Guandi Temple, Houwang Temple, Zhao Gong Ci, and more. Dapeng Fortress Museum is now officially open.
