Introduction
Chairman Mao's poem "Changsha in Spring" describes Orange Island in the heart of the Xiang River in downtown Changsha, which is a long island about ten kilometers long and an important scenic spot in Changsha. During the republican period, it was a gathering place for foreign white-collar workers (since 1904, Changsha was opened as a foreign trade port, and the island had the British Consulate and Changsha Xinguan); Young Mao Zedong often came here with friends to enjoy the river and play in the water. The scenery of Orange Island is very beautiful, with the Xiang River flowing slowly by, seagulls in spring, lush trees in summer and autumn, and the winter vista of "Jiangtian Muxue", one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Xiaoxiang. Now there is the Orange Island Scenic Garden on Orange Island, which has thousands of orange trees. During the autumn harvest season, the golden oranges cover the island, giving a refreshing feeling to stand on the island and look towards the Chu sky.
