Introduction

One of the famous attractions in Dandong is the Yalu River Broken Bridge, located next to the Yalu River Bridge and a relic from the Japanese colonial period. The bridge is painted in light blue, symbolizing the remembrance of the history of colonial rule and war aggression, while also praying for and upholding world peace. The bridge bears thousands of bullet marks, still visible today, and serves as an important witness to the history of the Korean War. A boat dock is located near the bridge, allowing visitors to admire the broken bridge from the water and perhaps experience a different feeling, while also taking in views of North Korea.
