Introduction

He Long Park is located on the east side of Qianlengyan, at an altitude of 1,200 meters. In the park stands a 6.5-meter-high, 9-ton bronze statue of Marshal He Long, which was built in 1986. The statue blends perfectly with the surrounding nature and is one of the largest bronze statues in China. Backed by the green mountains and facing Shentang Bay, the statue vividly portrays Marshal He Long with thick eyebrows, big eyes, a mustache, and a smile on his face as he looks at the steep cliffs of his hometown. His right arm is raised, holding a tobacco pipe, and his horse stands beside him, as if waiting for its owner to embark on a new journey. The stone tablets surrounding the statue feature inscriptions from central leaders such as Peng Zhen, Hu Yaobang, and Liao Hansheng, who also attended the unveiling ceremony. The statue bears witness to Marshal He Long's glorious revolutionary career and his great achievements.
