Introduction

The temple was built during the Tang Dynasty and is the Buddhist center of the Xiangxi region. It is situated on a mountain, displaying a majestic atmosphere.

Opening hours

Peak season (March 1 to November 30): 8:00-18:00 (ticket sales stop at 16:30). Off-peak season (December 1 to February 28 of the following year): 8:30-18:00 (ticket sales stop at 16:00). The opening hours are subject to the Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park's schedule.

Transportation

Visitors can take bus No. 4, No. 6, or No. 10 within the downtown area of Zhangjiajie to arrive at the lower station of Tianmen Mountain Cableway. The cableway can take passengers to Tianmen Cave, and the fee is included in the admission ticket. The middle station of the cableway closes at 17:30 every day, so visitors who want to go to Tianmen Cave must arrive at the middle station before this time.
