Introduction

Tianmen Dong in Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is the highest natural mountain-cave in the world, with a height of 131.5 meters and a width of 50 meters. It is one of the most representative scenic spots in Tianmen Mountain. Here, there are rare world wonders, "Tianmen spitting mist" and "Tianmen sunrise", which are praised as extremely rare. The 999-step ladder to heaven is not only a path to Tianmen, but also a sacred place for prayer and wish-making. Due to snowfall in winter, the road will freeze, so Tianmen Dong and the Tianmen Toll Road (a winding mountain road with 99 turns) leading to it will be closed during this time.

Transportation

Take bus No. 4, 6 or 10 within the Zhangjiajie city area, which can all arrive at the lower station of Tianmen Mountain Cableway. Visitors can take the cable car to Tianmen Cave in the scenic area, and the fee is included in the admission ticket. The cable car station of the middle section closes at 5:30 p.m. every day, so visitors who want to visit Tianmen Cave must arrive at the middle station before this time.
