Introduction

Putuo Mountain is the sacred place of Guanyin Bodhisattva, known as the "Buddhist Kingdom of the Sea and Sky". The whole island is shaped like a long strip, with distances between attractions ranging from 2 to 10 kilometers. The main attractions are divided into three areas centered around Puzhao Temple, Nanshai Guanyin, and Foding Mountain, respectively. It takes about half a day to explore each area. Nanshai Guanyin is the iconic building on the island, and Guanyin Hall, which is not willing to be visited, has the most legendary legends of Putuo Mountain, which cannot be missed. In addition to religious sites, there are two excellent beaches, Qianbu Sha and Baibu Sha, on the east side of the island, where visitors who enjoy the sea and playing in the water can go. Generally, it takes about 2-3 days to visit Putuo Mountain scenic area, and accommodation and dining on the island are required. The prices on the island are higher than outside, so it is advisable to bring some snacks and drinks if possible.

Transportation

Bus; Putuo Mountain is connected by two tourism lines that link most of the attractions. These two special lines run every 10-15 minutes and operate until 17:00, after which various vehicles gradually stop working. Tourists should return to their accommodation before this time. The fare from the pier to Qiansi is 4 yuan, and from Baibusha to the cable car station is 8 yuan. Line 1: Baibusha (Puji Temple), Baibuge, Zizhulin, Rusanmadi, pier, Haifang Xincun, Seafood Garden, Baotuo Hotel, Xitiandukou (suspension of operation during Xianghui period and special holidays); Line 2: Baibusha (Puji Temple), Chaoyangdong, Dachengan, Fayusi, Feisha'ao, Baoyue'an, Gufodong, Cable Car Station; Taxi; Putuo Mountain's attractions are relatively scattered, and group car rental is more cost-effective. 12-seat domestic Toyota bread car costs 400-600 yuan/day and 20-seat domestic Toyota coaster costs 800-1000 yuan/day. The tourism season on Putuo Mountain is obvious, and prices can be negotiated during the offseason.
