Introduction

The Beisi Pagoda is 76 meters tall with eight sides and nine levels, making it a landmark in the southern region of the Yangtze River. Originally, visitors could enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city from its top, but the scenic area is currently under renovation and cannot be visited. There are still some buildings of the Baonen Temple, which were rebuilt during the Ming and Qing dynasties, surrounding the pagoda. The Beisi Pagoda is a typical Chinese Buddhist pagoda and is known as the "first ancient temple in Wuzhong." It was first built during the Three Kingdoms period and is said to have been built by Sun Quan as a token of gratitude to his mother, hence its name Baonen Temple Pagoda.
