What are the must-see attractions in Dandong?

Dandong has rich tourism resources, with developed natural landscapes such as rivers, lakes, seas, mountains, springs, forests, and islands. It has built 24 national and provincial-level tourist scenic areas and nature reserves, including forest parks. Yalu River, the border river between China and North Korea, flows through Dandong for 210 kilometers, and along the way, there are 6 major scenic areas and over 100 attractions, forming a unique border landscape. Fenghuang Mountain

Located 60 kilometers northwest of Dandong City and 3 kilometers southeast of the Fengcheng City, Fenghuang Mountain is known for its beautiful scenery, earning it the reputation of "Fenghuang Mountain, the First Mountain of the Great Wall". In summer, Fenghuang Mountain is cool and pleasant, making it a famous summer resort in Liaodong. In October, it becomes a great place to enjoy the red maple leaves and the autumn scenery.
The Yalu River Broken Bridge on the Yalu River in Dandong is one of Dandong's iconic attractions. It was built in 1911 by the Japanese colonial authority, the Railway Bureau of the Japanese Residency-General in Korea, with a length of 944.2 meters. During November 1950 to February 1951, the invading American forces bombed the bridge multiple times, rendering it useless. The remaining four spans of the bridge are still a historical witness to the Korean War and are commonly referred to as the "Broken Bridge".

Tiger Mountain Great Wall

Tiger Mountain Great Wall is located 15 kilometers northeast of Dandong City, by the Yalu River. It is the easternmost point of the Ming Great Wall. It was rebuilt on its original site in 1992 and is about 1250 meters long. Along the Great Wall, there is a 2-kilometer long Tiger Mountain plank road, which can be explored on foot. The scenic area includes city towers, the Great Wall, ancient plank road, Sleeping Guanyin, and many other attractions, as well as the Great Wall History Museum.

Yalu River Park

Located on the north side of Yalu River Bridge in Dandong, Yalu River Park is a comprehensive public park that combines leisure, commercial, and tourism activities. The picturesque Jiangting Park and the four major cruise docks are ideal places for Dandong residents to cool off and relax during the summer.
Located on the southern slope of Jinjiang Mountain in the northern part of Dandong City, about 1.8 kilometers from the Yalu River, it was built in 1905 and is the largest comprehensive park in Dandong. The park is divided into 5 major scenic areas, including the landscape touring area, botanical garden, zoo, cultural garden, and children's amusement area. The entire park is built on the mountain, with pavilions and towers, beautiful scenery, and is a comprehensive park that integrates sightseeing, culture, and historical education.
