Er Long Bo Yuanxiao Shop
It is said that this shop started during the Guangxu period. Initially, there was no storefront. Yuanxiao was a popular snack among Fuzhou residents when watching Min opera. Er Long Bo used to carry and sell them on his shoulders, walking through streets and alleys. Gradually, the reputation of Er Long Bo Yuanxiao spread among the people. They started setting up stalls to sell, and now it is the fourth generation. The shop was quite shabby back then, but now it has moved to a place very close to Cangxia. Although the shop is still small with only four or five tables, it has a completely new look.
Uncle No Teeth's Peanut Soup Shop
Some say the reason their shop is called 'Uncle No Teeth' is because even an old man without teeth can drink their peanut soup. Nowadays, there are many knock-off versions of their shop. If you see a peanut soup shop near the ear canal area with a similar name, be cautious as an outsider might easily be deceived. Although I haven't tried those knock-offs and can't say they aren't tasty, this original shop definitely wins hands down!
Xuejun Shengji Stewed Products
The shop is very large, and because it offers fast food, many people who work or live nearby come here to eat during meal times, making it very lively. The shop offers various stewed products, such as pig heart, pig stomach, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, and more.
Jiujiu Yuanxiao
Located across the street from Qiuying Rice Balls, this is also a decades-old shop. Although it is not as famous as Erlongbo, their Yuanxiao is also well-known in Fuzhou. The shop also offers Ciba, Tangyuan, Fengan, Banmian, and more.
Ye's Peanut Soup
Although I didn't visit this shop this time, I had been there during my university days. The taste is comparable to Mei Ya Bo. Taro paste, peanut soup, and glutinous rice are all my favorites. If you don't have time to visit Mei Ya Bo, this place is just as good.
