Gulangyu Street
Gulangyu Island, as a symbol of Xiamen, is known as the "heart". In 2017, this small island, located across the sea from Xiamen, was named the 52nd "World Cultural Heritage" in China. This exquisite villa, with its nostalgic architecture seamlessly integrating with nature, allows one to wander and experience a delightful olden time.
Xiamen University was built by the sea, and its geographical environment of mountains and water has earned it the title of "the most beautiful campus in China." The well-trimmed campus greenery and the combination of Chinese and Western architecture are a sight to behold, making it an ideal campus for visitors to wander and appreciate one of China's top universities. Fuyong Lake, located in the center of the campus, is the iconic building of Xiamen University. The square on the lake and the Sungen Building on the opposite side make for a perfect photo spot.
The Hibiscus Tunnel in Xiamen University is the most characteristic attraction. Many students from Xiamen University leave their artworks on the walls of the tunnel. This photo records stories and fragments of youth, highlighting the creativity and also commemorating youth.
A few decades ago, there was a run-down fishing village called Cuo Cuan in China, which attracted many artistic individuals due to its low rent. Today, it has become a trendy gathering place with delicious food, cafes, and artsy souvenirs, similar to Gulangyu Island. Its convenient transportation has attracted many tourists who come here for its reputation.
Nanputuo Temple, located next to Xiamen University, has two distinctly different atmospheres. With over 600 years of history, it is the most prosperous Buddhist temple in Xiamen and enjoys a good reputation among temples nationwide. Admission to the temple is free, and each visitor can receive free incense and candles.
In Xiamen, Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is the busiest commercial street and its commercial center. Preserving well-preserved modern arcade buildings, Zhongshan Road has its unique characteristics. Even in constant drizzle, it won't affect your shopping pleasure.
Ring road
Huandao Road is located in the southwest of Xiamen, adjacent to Xiamen University and Gulangyu Island. The best route is the Huanghai South Road, which is 7 kilometers long and takes about 30 minutes by bike. It stretches from Yanwu Bridge Viewing Platform in the west to Huangcuo Beach in the east. Along the way, you can enjoy the sea views and experience the pleasure of cycling by the seaside.
Xiamen University, Baicheng Campus
Near Xiamen University, Baicheng Beach is only separated by a street. It is a popular seaside beach that most tourists visiting Xiamen must go to. The beach is vast in size. Although the water quality is not as clean as Guanyin Mountain, it is still a popular area for enjoying the sea near the city. Standing here, you can also see Xiamen Twin Towers at a glance, making it a great place for taking photos.
