Crescent Lake, historically known as Wo Wa Pond and Sand Well, also called Medicine Spring, has been one of the eight scenic spots of Dunhuang since the Han Dynasty. It was renamed Crescent Lake during the Qing Dynasty. In recent decades, the ecological environment of Dunhuang has been continuously deteriorating. According to historical records, this natural wonder with a history of over ten thousand years has seen its water area shrink from over 20 acres in the 1960s to just over 8 acres today.
Lugu Lake

Dongchuan Red Land
Dongchuan Red Land: A palette dropped by God on earth, located in the remote area of Dongchuan in the southwest of Kunming, Yunnan. Hundreds of kilometers around are red soil. The iron in the soil has slowly deposited through oxidation, gradually forming this dazzling color.
